The balance bike is great in my opinion because you skip that whole training wheel phase and they learn to balance really early. Also, he gets the peddling part because he and Alex ALWAYS ride the tricycles at school. Gone are the days of my dad running behind me in the cul de sac or an empty parking lot getting all sweaty, just so he can be 2 steps away in case of a fall.

Ethan's riding a bike!
Ethan got a Strider Bike just over a year ago and has mastered it. In fact the seat is all the way up and he's frankly too big/tall for it. So our neighbor across the street said that they had a bike that all of the neighborhood boys had learned on when they were Ethan's age. So we wrapped it up and voila, a Christmas present! Today was his first time out on it, and he's got it. I can NOT believe I have a child old enough to ride a real bike!

Eric ran a little bit but for the most part, Ethan's got it! He loves putting on the brakes and making a skid mark too. Love!
