Chase's 2nd Birthday

How is this possible?  Broken record, I know!  I literally feel like I JUST had him.  This little boy has such a special place in our family!  :)

Height: 37" (97%)
Weight: 31# (89%)
Head Circumference: 49cm (59%)
BMI: 25%

Chase wears size 6 diapers (Pampers)

He wears an 8.5 shoe

He has 16 teeth

Chase is just getting into 3T which is a touch big, but the 2T's are too small.

He goes to bed at 7:30pm and wakes between 6:30 and 7am.

Chase can count to 10 (ish)

He has been at "school" for about a month now and is doing very well!  He isn't fond of dropoff's but doesn't cry and has really settled in nicely with his teachers Ms. Vicki and Ms. Whisper!  He seems to be having such a fun time there.

Chase is starting to be a bit more picky with food than in the past.  He LOVES carbs and LOVES dipping.  He always wants to dip (which is funny because Ethan NEVER dips stuff).  He's a French fry and Ranch kind of boy...just like mama!

Chase is a clean freak...and slightly OCD.  If he makes a mess on his tray or hands, he says "wipe" and wants to clean it immediately.  If he sees trash, he HAS to throw it away then and there.  We're still trying to teach him what is trash and what is not.  Lord knows what has been thrown away on accident.  I see pajamas in there and toys...all sorts of things really.  He is starting to throw his sippy cups or bowls in the sink too.   We're working on sink vs. trash can.

He loves motorcycles and airplanes.  If he hears one, he immediately stops whatever he is doing and listens carefully.  If it's a motorcycle, he makes a deep rev-ing noise.  If it's an airplane, he looks up and goes up and down like rolling hills with his hand.  ::love::

He is my little lover.  Oh man this boy is sweet.  He is so affectionate and loving.  He loves cuddling resting his head on your shoulder, and giving kisses.  He is just the sweetest loving child!

He will be my straight A, rule follower in school.  I know it!  He will be a great listener, follow instructions to a tee and just be an overall people pleaser.  I think he's learning what NOT to do from big brother!  I'm told he's also a ladies man.  All of the girls at school love him, and he loves them.  He pulls chairs out for them too!  Haha.

But until all of that goodness comes to fruition, the 2 year old side of Chase is in full effect!  He has a temper.  And when he doesn't get his way he hits and kicks.  He backs up, winds up his foot or hand and whacks you.  He hates time out but doesn't quite "get it" as immediately after his time out he'll do it again, and again.  Or he'll pull his paci out of his mouth and throw it.  Or he'll open the sippy cup drawer and start throwing the cups and lids one by one.  Temper for sure!  It's hard not to laugh.  He LOVES opening the refrigerator and freezer doors.  Ugg!  He also loves climbing on the bar stools or opening the trash can lid, so the stools and trash can live in our backyard oftentimes.

We did ditch the paci except for nap and night, but with this whole school transition he's gotten it a lot more lately.  We need to reign him back in with that, but it's so comforting to him and it's hard to stop it.  He calls it his "dee dee".  And when he wants it, he'll say "MY dee dee" over and over.  He LOVES that thing.  He also loves his blanky.  We ONLY have two though!  They were just a standard blue/tan Gerber pack that I got at one of my baby showers for Ethan.  And I can't find them anywhere.  I'm sure they are discontinued.  So the blue one is for home and the tan one is for school.  They stay inside though.  He isn't allowed to walk outside with them or take them into stores.

His vocabulary grows every day. He says hundreds of words.  And although his vocabulary is growing, and he attempts to say anything you ask him to say, sometimes it's still hard to understand him.  It's frustrating for all of us because we just don't know what he wants sometimes.  My favorite word is shit (sit)!  :)

He calls Ethan "EE" and Ethan calls him "Chasey"...it's so adorable!  They are starting to have more and more fun together, but also are fighting more than ever!  Ethan is so much stronger than Chase and can really power over him.  But Chase loves his EE and they giggle and laugh often!  I LOVE seeing their friendship blossom and it makes me so excited that they have each other in the future.  I can just see them together when they get older being buddies.  :)

We didn't do a party for Chase this year for a few reasons, so we just stayed local and celebrated ourselves!

Friday the 25th Chase went to school and here is his birthday crown that he came home with!  I was going to make treats but apparently one kid in his class had an anaphylactic shock on 4th of July so they are cautious about what comes in from the "outside world".  So instead I brought sticker sheets and they had fun with that and got to take some home too!

I picked him up so he could nap at home.  That evening we went to our old house's (which we rent but still have a pool key to) community pool with our neighbors.  Chase is a wild child and has NO fear with the pool!

We then went home and Skyped with Eric's parents and they watched us sing Happy Birthday and open some presents.  Except that Chase was SO tired from the pool activities that he was so ready for bed!  He was cranky!

A few days later, Chase had his 2 year old well baby checkup.  He was able to check all of the boxes off and his a clean bill of health!  He got 2 shots (we were a little behind) which he hated of course.
