On May 11th, we headed up to Seattle to visit Eric's family. This was also Chase's first plane ride! AND, this was Ethan's first flight where he was a breeze! Who would have thought that he was the easy one to fly with, but he did great! Chase also did very well. The only fussiness was maybe 15-20 minutes where he was SO tired and was trying to fall asleep on me in the Ergo. He is such a crib sleeper and does not do great out of that environment but he did great after he feel asleep! That night we stayed at Eric's sister Lisa's house. Ethan had a blast playing with Lilly (and Tyler)!
The next day we drove 3 1/2 hours, from south of Seattle (approximately where the W in Washington is) to the blue dot--Seaside, OR. Seaside is a beautiful town right on the northern coast of Oregon. The town is known for being the end of the Lewis & Clark trail. There is a fun little downtown full of saltwater taffy, fun kids stuff and my favorite, Auntie M's which was walking distance from our rental and had the most amazing fresh baked scones and coffee!
The rental house had a VERY creepy lower level with an air hockey table and Ethan and Lilly LOVED it. The days were spent with visiting a local aquarium, flying kites on the beach, painting rocks to add to the rock garden and sand castle building. Eric and I even snuck away one night to get a nice dinner out.
It was a nice week away spending time with Eric's family.
Here is a link to the flickr set. This is a tiny fraction of the images but will show a bit of our adventures!
