On May 11, 2013 Ethan turned 3 1/2! We were on an airplane to Seattle so the day was just like any other...except that he can now say that he is 3 1/2!
Ethan's behavior is dramatically improved since he turned 3. He still has the occasional not so great day filled with not listening, time outs and pee accidents, but for the most part things are much better. I attribute that solely to age. Well, and persistence on our ends with consistent consequences for poor behavior.
We're usually done with bath by 7:30pm and are usually out of his room by 7:45/8pm. He falls asleep anywhere from 8-9pm. He wakes at about 6:30am.
He can say his name and usually says it right. Every once in a while he says 'Efan'. Disgusting=sususting and three=free
He can count to 30 in English and to 100 if you help him with the next group of 10. If I say 50 he can count to 59 them I give him 60. He can count to 10 in Spanish and knows some Spanish words (lots of colors and a few others).
He is getting funnier by the day. The stuff he says has me rolling. The expressions he makes and the joy he brings us is amazing! Love you sweet Ethan James!
Before the 1st day of soccer camp (held at his school)
School is going great for him. He hasn't been in any trouble (knock on wood) and seems to be dealing with any frustrating situations better. Kendall and Chloe were in his classroom last year and this is his new BFF Ryan.
You can ALWAYS find Ethan behind the slides in the huge sandbox playing with dump trucks, unless the Lego bin is out...then you know where he'll be!
The last few nights he has fallen asleep on the floor. He usually is in bed come morning though. I love that he put on his froggy slippers.
Here he is with his reading light on his head, and his backpack on; filled with treasures I'm sure.
Here is a typical floor setup. He clips his other reading light onto a book and props it on his step stool. Genius.
In Dad's shirts
The same helmet that he has worn for all these years. Nice nose Eth!
Life with Chase is interesting. Ethan definitely sees Chase as more of a nuisance than a fun little brother. Chase is always crawling in his way and Ethan tries very hard to block him. I have him asking me "Mom, will you please move Chase" instead of just pushing him out of the way. Once Chase can walk and hold his own a bit more I'm hoping they can play together a bit more nicely. For now, it's tickling and wrestling!
A little Coldstone!
