The Bradford's: Ethan's 4th Birthday

How is Ethan 4? I'll never get used to this whole getting older thing with my children!

And an ear (right) infection as well! I believe it's his 2nd ever.

Oh I remember his Birth Day like it was yesterday. It FEELS like it was yesterday, yet so much has changed!

Saturday November 9th we had a small (oh you know, 20 adults and 20 kids) neighborhood/cousins birthday party. We knew that Disneyland was his main party so we decided to have a small ice cream and pizza party. No one went in our house...everything was in the front yard which was so nice. And I did no theme (which was an out of body experience to not go all-out) or bouncy house. It was like a big play date. We had a train track/trains station, a Lego station, a cars station and a few other toys out. We had appetizers, beer, soda, wine, and of course the pizza and ice cream. It was perfect and easy!

Monday November 11 we sent Ethan to school to celebrate with his buddies. We brought snack that day and I came back around 2:30 and brought cupcakes. I got the recipe from Pinterest, but it was gross. The ice cream cones got soggy overnight but they are 3 and 4 years old and everyone thought they were great! The teepee just went up the day before so the whole class, 3 teachers and myself did the cupcakes in the teepee!

Thursday November 14th (Disneyland) and Friday November 15th (CA Adventure). Lauren our nanny came at 6am on Thursday and stayed overnight with Chase. It would have been too hard with his naps/early bedtime so the little guy stayed back.

We left at about 6:45am and drove to Anaheim to check into the Disney Grand Californian. We had our bags brought up and got to use the extra magic hour and got to Disneyland an hour before everyone else could get in. GG and Bapa Doody gifted all of us a trip to Disneyland last Christmas and we decided to make it a dual trip. So Aunt Lolo flew down and we met up with GG.

Upon entry we got the COOLEST greeting from probably 40 staff. Ethan had a birthday button on and they cheered and hollered for him. It brought tears to my eyes to see the magic that Disneyland holds and to have Ethan experience some of it. Those people sure know how to do it right!

We went on a bunch of rides, including Space Mountain (Ethan is 41" and you have to be 40"). If it had been in the daylight he would have loved it, but the pitch black environment spooked him. I don't blame him! Eric asked "Ethan, how was Space Mountain" and his response was "Not cool!".

Ethan got a good nap back at the hotel and we got a Margarita (or two)! That night we went to Goofy's Kitchen for dinner and were able to meet up with Bapa Doody. It was so great to get 1 on 1 attention from a bunch of characters.

The next day the whole group went to CA Adventure and we had more fun with a bunch of rides! We had to check out of the hotel so no nap for Ethan that day. Around 5pm we decided to leave and Ethan passed out before we were on the freeway. It was such a fun trip and we'll definitely be going back!! Happy 4th Birthday Ethan!
