Last weekend we had our 2nd swim lesson with Ethan.
It starts off good. Big boy has realized he can stand alone in the 2'6" pre-swim lesson pool and play with the little toys in the amazingly warm water. Then when the clock strikes, the teachers call the names and off we go into the big pool.
It looks like this! Managed craziness! (Mostly all dads...Eric's up next time!)
Ethan loves the kicking and knocking down the little turtle paddle boards. But then we do things like dunk him and he HATES it!
Then he's so terrified that the floating on the back thing freaks him out even more. See all the other LITTLE babies laying nicely? Ethan's fighting against everything he's got to sit upright. Meanwhile clinging to me for dear life.
He looks a little something like this. But it's only 20 minutes and we persist. Because despite him saying "get out" we tell him we have to finish what we start and just a few more minutes bud.
His FAVORITE part is when they have them walk across this foam train and we even play with it a few times after the lesson ends.
Lesson learned...do NOT wait until 2 years old to let your child get used to the water. This new babe will be in the water much earlier than 2! Mom fail! Doesn't he know I swam competitively for 10 years?!?
