Wow, almost a month without a post? What can I say? December brought a busy month, a work trip to SF, Christmas shopping and some time off!
I'm in denial that I have to drop Ethan off at daycare tomorrow. I anticipate a tough dropoff but am hoping for the best!!!
Here's our little tree...
And here's our Christmas card. I forgot to get a copy of the proof so here's a crappy picture of it.
On Christmas Eve we headed to my cousin's house in San Diego. It was delish! Isn't this pic sweet of my mom and Ethy?
Christmas morning Ethan came down the stairs and saw all of the presents that Santa brought him. In fact he can't stop talking about that fat man. At night I hear him over the monitor before he's fallen asleep and he says "Santa came...presents". Oh boy!
We opened a few presents...although truly not that many! He just had his birthday last month and got SO much stuff that I didn't want to go crazy. I was SO giddy for him to wake up and see everything that I was wide awake at 6am! We video taped his reaction coming down the stairs and it was so cute. He'd open up a present and say "next present".
Then we Skyped with Eric's parents in Washington and opened up the gifts they bought for him! He's in love!
On Christmas Eve I had EVERY intention of packing for Huntington but after putting the presents out and getting sucked into Christmas Vacation, I was so tired and had to go to bed.
So after we opened presents at our house, Skyped and ate breakfast we hurriedly packed (just for 1 night!)...Ethan even drove up in his PJ's. We got on the road a little later than planned but made it up to Huntington Beach for more presents! Ethan took a nap then we went to Simi Valley for more celebrations. We didn't get done until 8pm which is a good hour after Ethan's bed time. He was a wild man with all of the people around and all of the sweets he ate but he got in his jammies and fell asleep about 30 minutes into the drive. He transferred to the crib beautifully and did pretty well all things considered. Here he is w/ GG.
On the 26th on our drive home at around 5pm in San Clemente Eric noticed the radio flickering. We pulled off immediately and luckily there was a gas station right off the freeway. Eric tried to get a jump but this dumby put the wrong ends on his car and burned out our cables. So he walked a few blocks to Auto Zone and bought new cables, a battery and some tools. He put the new battery in and it worked for a bit but not enough to get us home :( So 45 minutes later GG and Bapa came to 'rescue' us. We packed up our stuff in their car and got a tow to the dealer in Laguna. We got home late and Ethan crashed, BUT he thought the tow truck was the coolest thing EVER. He was jumping up and down and was saying "mama car, car doctor, tow truck". Thank God they were around to take us home!!!! Thank you!!!
It turned out it was the alternator which gets power to the battery so no wonder. My car was purchased in May 2007 brand new and has 97,000 miles on it. We bought an extended warranty which ends at either 5 years or 100,000 miles so we got in just under the limit! The bill would have been $800. Phew!
We drove the 40 minutes to Laguna on the 28th around 5pm to pick up my car and the radio didn't work. It was 5:10p and the guys had gone home at 5. So the next day we brought it to our local dealership and they direct billed the other guys. A fuse or something had blown out due to the other repair. Oh my gosh...over it! But glad it's good now.
The next day we set up Ethan's new art easel. This school/daycare he's at has really nurtured his creative side and he loves drawing!
Every time he accidentally draws on himself with a dry erase marker he says "kiss it", like it's a boo boo. Love him!
And here he is this morning watching a few minutes of "Diggers and Dumpers". He's just the BEST little guy ever and I love him to pieces.

So sorry about the car. Ugh! Ours did something similar on our way back from festivities, but fortunately it was just the battery for us. No fun! Glad you got everything fixed, and relatively quickly, too!
Loved your Christmas card! Very cute!
Happy New Year!
Thanks! :) You too!
