Little Chasey turned 5! I still remember thinking that 5 years old was officially big boy status. :( Somehow though he still seems to be my baby though so I'm holding onto that for now!
The morning of his birthday, he awoke to banana muffins with sprinkles. He also took a big batch to school to share with his buddies for a birthday snack. We let him open one present which was the beloved Nerf gun! For weeks prior he would say "my birthday is in 17 days which means it's Nerf gun day!" For some reason that was the gift to have this year so he was pumped when he got to open it that morning.
That night we got an easy dinner and ice cream and he opened the rest of his presents.
The following weekend he had a birthday party at Alga Norte pool. He hadn't had a party since his 1st birthday so he was understandably excited! I tried to keep it minimal and not go overboard which is my natural tendency. It was easy and fun and we enjoyed celebrating our very special 5 year old!
