Healdsburg

What a special getaway weekend I had!  We decided to do a girls trip and finally landed on Northern CA.  We were going to do Napa, but decided on a little town called Healdsburg (north of Sonoma).  What a gem!

We flew out to San Francisco on a Friday morning, got the rental car and had lunch on the Embarcadero at a Spanish tapas restaurant owned by Michael Chiarello called Coqueta.  It was delicious!  Service was not great, but the food was great!

After picking up my sister from work in the financial district, we were off.  We didn't take into account Friday traffic over the GG bridge, and up through Sonoma, but luckily we were able to push our spa treatments back by 30 minutes.  We checked into the Hotel Healdsburg and got lovely spa treatments!

We cleaned up, and had dinner at Barndiva at an astonishing 8:15pm.  So late for us moms! :)  The goat cheese balls were to die for.  We may or may not have consumed 18 balls between the 4 of us!

The next morning we had a driver take us to wineries.  First we went to Lambert Bridge.  Adorable and pretty good wines.  Not amazing.

Then Michel Schlumberger.  We didn't like the wines very much.

Sonoma is zoned for agriculture so most of the wineries don't have restaurants.  You just picnic!  Before we left we got sandwiches, salami, cheese, nuts, and chocolate at Oakville Grocery in town.  So good!

By this time, we were ready to eat!  But Ferrari Carano didn't have a picnicking area, so we did a quick tasting and went to Sbragia to eat.

Clearly we were feeling the wine with our jumping photos!

We had dinner that night at Dry Creek Kitchen and it was really good too!

We all slept like babies.  The beds were unreal, and the (included) breakfast was so good each morning.

Our flight on Sunday wasn't until 5pm so we rented (no cost) bikes through the hotel and did a 4 mile loop.  It was beautiful!

Then we did a tasting at La Crema, shopped a little, and got ready to check out.  We want to come back and do a couples weekend!  We love Healdsburg!  I'm a lucky lady!
